The power of Lowering the Gaze

If you watch porn all day, a girl in a miniskirt walking down the street will seem as normal as a brick wall to you. Again if you restrain your gaze, keep your eyes down and away from all the women displayed on TV/internet; staring the same girl for a moment will create a sexual temptation inside you.

With great restraint comes with great sensitivity. The more religious you are, the more sexually sensitive you will become. A man who never looks at any prostitute will undoubtedly become highly excited when he somehow unwantedly stares at a woman in a revealing dress (i.e. with partial nudity).

Sensitivity has a skyrocket levelled positive impact on Marital life. When you keep your gaze down only for your spouse, the intensity of the sexual attraction between you and your partner is intensified.

Think about how much sexual energy you store by keeping your eyes away from billboards, magazine stands, posters, online contents and garbage advertisements showed on TV/Internet. He restrained his glances from nude women because he accepts the fact that it is sinful to give the gaze a complete freedom.

In other words, you have restrained your desire including gaze to enjoy the sexual pleasure at its peak, but if you had a halal i.e. morally permissible method of enjoying it, you would have used it.

At the end of the day, you will be coming home to your wife with all of the potential sexual attractions you have held back all day; which was naturally built within your character. As a result of abandoning all other means of satisfying the sex desire, the longing that has accumulated between the two of you will create an intense attraction.

The expression of these intense emotions will then be channeled through physical intercourse. Such an intense emotional & physical relationship can only happen between a husband and a wife, because that is what Allah wills.

This sexual energy is not only healthy, but also necessary for conducting a successful married life, and it is originated from all those restrained gazes. 

Eye control today translates to having a better sex life tomorrow i.e. in the future.

This potential is applicable for both short term and long term. Another point comes from here; try to keep full practice of vision control (lowering the gaze from other women) before marriage.

If you could somehow completely restrain yourself from years of masturbation, pornographic contents, shorts & reels, female classmates, girls in the lab, women from the workplace, trashy ads and not looking seductively at girls; then your sex-desire for the wife (your real sex partner) will be radically stronger.

And yes, it is obviously hard to hold/control the gaze from women, but when you get into married life and get the benefits of having a happy sex life due to embracing such discipline, you'll eventually realize that the sufferings were nothing compared to the real benefits.
